4:04 pm - LOVE~HOPE~STRENGTH Charity Recording Workshop

othniel77
SCHOOL OF ROCK USA is proud and excited to announce an amazing opportunity for your child to participate in a 3-day recording workshop to benefit the LOVE HOPE STRENGTH FOUNDATION (www.lovehopestrength.org), an international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to providing support for cancer centers, and inspiration to those affected, throughout the world, founded by Mike Peters of The Alarm and current lead singer of Big Country.

http://www.lovehopestrength.org

Students in each school will develop an arrangement of and record "Love Hope and Strength" by The Alarm. The final recordings from each School of Rock's Workshops will then be made available for download and 100% of those proceeds will go to The Love Hope Strength Foundation. The School of Rock that raises the most money for the LHSF will "win" a Guest Professor Event with Mike Peters!

The Workshop will focus on group vocals, harmony, and recording music and is open to all intermediate to advanced School of Rock students. Specifically, the workshop will require one (1) drummer, one (1) keyboardist, one (1) bassist, three (3) guitarists, and up to ten (10) vocalists and we WILL cap enrollment at those numbers. All applicants will be evaluated by the Workshop Director and the chosen Workshop participants will be notified by 11/1/2011.

BOSTON AREA DATES FOR THE 3-DAY LOVE~HOPE~STRENGTH RECORDING WORKSHOP WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

Sunday, 11/6: 3:00-6:00 PM
Sunday, 11/13: 3:00-6:00 PM
Sunday, 11/20: 3:00-6:00 PM

Instructor: Mike Woods

Location:
Brand New Recording Studio Upstairs @ School of Rock
120 Elm Street
Watertown, MA 02472

COST: $295 per student ALL-INCLUSIVE FOR ALL 3 DAYS!!!
Since this goes toward a charity, sure, we can do the same thing we do with Camps and letcha write it off as a "childcare expense" ;)

A thick slab of praise for J. Cannibal and his Feast of Flesh:

“J. Cannibal, the ‘King of Horror Burlesque.’” —Boston's Weekly Dig

“J. Cannibal's Feast of Flesh, led by real-life undertaker and zombie lover J. Cannibal, is a celebration of all things terrifying.” —The Improper Bostonian

“Think Rocky Horror Picture Show with less androgyny and more anthropophagy.” —The Onion

“[J.Cannibal] is the sort of guy people brag about knowing. After all, he sounds like an exotic, epic character: poet, undertaker, horror-burlesque king, small-press publisher, show promoter, fake-blood engineer.”
The Boston Phoenix

Lilith is an amazing metal vocalist, performing both on her own and with the band Sorrowseed. in the Boston area.  Her growls rival any guy in the biz and her shrieks will freeze you cold!  This song shows her whole range including a beautifully clear singing voice she is unveiling for the first time.  You'll be surprised it's all the same person.  She is impressive to both see and hear!

Goth music and metal have been her life-long passions.  Peter was one of her vocal idols and she was very
affected by his passing. This is a tribute from the heart.

11:08 am - Drummer Wanted For Established Punk Rock 'n' Roll Band!

roachmckrackin
The Murder - 2010 - Drummer Wanted
The Murder, an established Boston based Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll band seeks a drummer for local and regional shows & recording.

We currently have two albums under our belt and working toward our third. This album, moreso than our prior ones, is going to have a Libertarian political streak to it. While we have no problem with anyone's personal politics differing from this bent, the band as a whole will be representing these ideas through our music.

You should also be a laid back team player with your own transportation to and from practice, although we have a truck & trailer and will travel together for out of town shows. Partying is fine, even encouraged, but please, no junkies, drunks or thieves!

We have a band dedicated kit (Tama Rockstar 5-piece), but you should have (and probably will want to use) your own hardware & breakables. This is negotiable if you don't own any gear.

We practice one night a week in Roxbury (Uphams Corner) and play out 3 - 4 times a month, primarily on weekends, but occasionally on weeknights as well.

Both of our albums are available to stream for free at: music.MurderPunx.com so you can get an idea of how we sound.

10:51 am - SATURDAY: The Murder Vinyl Record Release Party!

roachmckrackin
2010-06-19

Alright, it's been a long time coming, but I"m really looking forward to finally having the record release party for our latest album, "'Til Death"!

The fun kicks off at 8pm this Saturday night at The Midway Cafe, 3496 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain MA. It's going to be alot of fun, and for the first and only time we're going to play the entire 'Til Death album live, in it's entirety!

We have some extra special guests joining us as well, including Oedipus and the Mother Fuckers (Featuring members of The Egos)

This record would have been possible without your love and support through the past couple years, so as a thank you everyone in the door will get a free copy of the 10" vinyl record, as well as a code to download the digital version from BandCamp.com, so make sure you get there early to get your voucher so you can redeem it for your free swag at the merch table!

If you have Facebook, you can RSVP at the FB Event Page here!

We haven't played locally since the Ron Holbrook Benefit Show on Valentine's Day, so this is going to be sure to blow the roof off the place!

See ya Saturday!

The Murder - 'Til Death

Today is a great day, as April 20th always is... This year is extra special though, because our new album "'Til Death" has been released digitally, and you can stream it for free on our music page at BandCamp.com!

While you're there, you can pre-order the ultra limited edition 10" vinyl record, which will be released nationwide May 25th, 2010. Pre-orders will most likely ship a little before then, on or around May 10th, and if you use the discount code DEADCROWS you'll get 25% off, as well as get access to an immediate download of the Mp3s, to tide you over until the wax makes it's way into your hot little hands!

Don't forget, our single "Streets of Boston" is still available to download for free, so help yourself!

Streets of Boston by The Murder

Be on the lookout for more info and maybe some more giveaways in the upcoming weeks, as well as an announcement about the Boston record release show! Also, get in touch and let us know what you think of the album. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
